  • The needs and abilities of each consumer will affect the kind of information and how it’s communicated. There may be situations where consumers won’t be able to have unlimited choice, such as if their choice negatively affects other people or serious risk and harm to themselves. We as the team will take a balanced approach to managing risk and respecting the consumer’s rights, known as Dignity of risk. If a consumer makes a choice that is possibly harmful to them, we will help the consumer /representative understand the risk and manage the risk as much as possible to allow the consumer to live the way they choose.
